CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION

At CGGC, we love to celebrate progress – and nothing highlights that better than our annual Club Championship Competition!

Throughout the year, our gymnasts in Year R to Year 5 work towards mastering a progressive set of skills tailored to their age group. These are built into their regular classes and form part of our internal badge system, designed to help each child grow in confidence, strength, and technique.

Around Easter, our coaches carry out an assessment of each gymnast’s skills. You can keep track of your child’s progress via your online account, where updates are added as badges are achieved.

Once all preliminary assessments are complete, the top-scoring gymnasts in each year group will be invited to take part in our exciting Club Championship Competition, held in the final weeks of the summer term.

Participation isn’t mandatory – but it’s a fantastic opportunity, and we strongly encourage all invited gymnasts to take part. The competition is a fun, friendly, and relaxed event – a true celebration of everything your child has worked towards.

The Competition

The Club Championship is a fun and relaxed event that celebrates the progress each gymnast has made over the year. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to showcase their skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Each gymnast will perform a Floor Routine and 2 x Vaults  which will be taught during class. Videos of the routines will also be made available online in the run up to the competition.

Floor Routine

Each gymnast will perform a floor routine, which is taught during class time in the lead-up to the competition. A video of the routine will also be made available online, so children can practise at home if they wish. The routine is designed to highlight key skills from their badge level, allowing them to perform with confidence and familiarity.

Vault

Gymnasts will complete two vaults, which will be judged by our team of qualified and experienced judges. Vaulting is a great way for children to demonstrate their strength, control, and technique under gentle competition conditions.

Awards & Recognition

Every gymnast who takes part will receive a certificate of participation to recognise their achievement and effort. The top-scoring individuals in each year group will be awarded medals or ribbons as a celebration of their performance.

While the day includes scoring and judging, it’s very much a celebration rather than a high-pressure event. It’s all about having fun, building confidence, and marking the incredible progress our gymnasts have made throughout the year. We’re so proud of every child who steps out onto the floor—and we can’t wait to see them shine!

2024 Competition Results

The 2024 CGGC Club Championship Competition was a fantastic celebration of our gymnasts’ hard work, progress, and perseverance. Held in the final weeks of the summer term, the event brought together the top-scoring children from each year group to take part in a fun, friendly, and relaxed competition environment.

Each gymnast performed a floor routine and two vaults, cheered on by fellow gymnasts, coaches, and proud families. For many, this was their first time competing in front of judges—and they absolutely rose to the occasion. The courage, focus, and determination on display were nothing short of inspiring.

We couldn’t be more proud of every child who took part. Whether they earned a medal, a ribbon, or simply gained confidence and experience, each gymnast achieved something to be proud of. Take a look at the results below and help us celebrate their incredible efforts!
