  • What age groups do you cater for?
    The Club has classes for children from walking age to 18.
  • What apparatus do your recreational classes work on?
    Our recreational classes work on a variety of apparatus including: sprung gymnastics floor, asymmetric bars, beam & fast track.
  • What is your class timetable?

  • What availability do you have and how can I join?
    You can check our current availability and book a class via our Recreational Classes page. Click on the class suitable for your child's age group and you will be taken to our booking portal.
  • Can I book a trial class?
    Yes! You can book a trial in any of our recreational classes for £10.00. How to book a trial class: Visit our Recreational Classes page Choose the correct class for your child's age and click 'Book Now' On our booking portal, select the class you would like to book from the available options and add it to your basket. At the checkout, click on the 'Trial Session' payment option Follow the instructions to complete the transaction
  • What should my child bring to class?
    Every child must have a water bottle with them to every class. Our recreational classes are short and intensive workouts and children stop for a short water break. There is a chilled water water fountain available at the gym to fill bottles. Water only: Please do not bring squash/fruit juices or energy drinks in place of water.
  • How much are classes?
    The monthly class fee amount can be found on the Recreational Classes page. Class fees are collected via direct debit on/around the 21st of each month. Unfortunately, we are not able to change the direct debit collection date. Class fees are totalled over the whole year and divided into 12 equal monthly installments. This means there is a payment over the summer break. The direct debit continues on a rolling basis until you inform us that you would like to cancel you membership.   • How much is the CGGC Club Membership Fee?
    All members are required to pay the CGGC Club Membership Fee of £20.00. It is due upon joining as a member and renews every January. If you join us after July, your first payment will be reduced to £10.00.
  • How much is a British Gymnastics Membership?
    Cheltenham & Gloucester Gymnastics Club is affiliated with the National Governing Body for gymnastics - British Gymnastics. When you join the club, you will also need to join British Gymnastics. You can do this here - British Gymnastics Membership It is mandatory for all members to have an active British Gymnastics Membership as it includes comprehensive insurance for gymnastics activities. We are not permitted to allow gymnasts without a valid BG membership to take part in classes at the club. Please note: Your British Gymnastics membership is seperate from payments to the club and you will need to have your BG membership in place when you join as a member.
  • How much is the Club Uniform?
    All members are required to wear the club uniform for gymnastics classes with us. This is for safety reasons as loose items of clothing (such as t-shirts) can get caught on the apparatus. The uniform consists of the club leotard & shorts (girls get a colourful scrunchie included!). You can view the uniform on our Uniform & Merchandise page, however, items can only be purchased at the club.
  • Are there any family or sibling discounts?
    Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any family or sibling discounts at this time.
  • Are there any other additional fees associated with classes?
    During your time at Cheltenham & Gloucester Gymnastics Club, children have the opportunity to earn end-of-year badges and showcase their skills in the annual CGGC Club Championship Competition. In these cases, there may be additional fees for award packs or competition entries. We will inform you of any such fees in advance.
  • What qualifications do coaches have?
    All of our coaches are qualified via British Gymnastics' coaching accreditation programme. Our more senior coaches undertake additional CPD tuition in modules such as: Preschool Gymnastics Safeguarding & Welfare Positive Coaching
  • What safety measures are in place during classes?
    The Club has many policies and procedures in place to protect all visitors to Cheltenham & Gloucester Gymnastics Club including: Codes of Conduct for Children, Visitors & Coaches Anti-Bullying Policy Photography & Videography Policy Privacy Policy Sickness & Injury Policy Complaints Procedure Terms & Conditions All of the above can be found on our Policies page. For the safety of all our visitors, our front doors remain locked during classes, so please make sure you arrive on time. If you would like to stay for the class, you must wait until the end of the class to leave.
  • What is the ratio of coaches to gymnasts?
    The ratio of coaches to gymnasts varies depending on the class type and age of participants. As a British Gymnastics affiliated club, we have mandated coach:child ratios which are adhered to in order to preserve class safety and quality.
  • What should I do if my child has a medical condition?
    Please contact the club at admin@cggcgymnastics.com if your child has or is diagnosed with a medical condition. We will add this note to your child's account so that our staff are aware. If your child needs medication, such as an inhaler or insulin, please ensure they bring it to every class. Please note, some medical conditions require medical screening before a child can take part in gymnastics activities. If you are thinking of booking a class and your child has a medical condition, contact the club first and we can offer some advice.
  • My child isn't feeling well, should they come to class?
    We urge all parents & carers to use common sense when deciding whether or not your child is too ill to attend class. Sick children are more likely to lose focus and injure themselves so, before attending classes, ask yourself the following questions: Is my child well enough to do the activities? If not, keep your child at home. Does my child have a condition that could be passed on to other children of staff? If so, keep your child at home. Would I take a day off work if I had this condition? If so, keep your child at home. Please refer to our Sickness and Injury Policy for more details.
  • Is there a dress code for gymnastics?
    All members of the club are required to train in the club uniform (excluding Parent & Child classes). The club uniform consists of a leotard and shorts. Gymnasts must remove all jewellery (preferably before arriving) Newly pierced ears may be taped from home for up to 6-weeks, after which it must be removed.   • Do you have classes for beginners?
    Yes! All our recreational classes are suitable for beginner and developing gymnasts. They break skills down into their fundamental movements and offer plenty of opportunity to practice.
  • What is your policy on missed classes?
    If your child is going to be away from classes for a few weeks due to travel or a long-term illness, it's helpful to let us know. You do not need to inform us if you are missing the odd week for whatever reason. Please note: Due to the popularity of our classes and mandated coach/child ratios, we are not able to offer catch up session for missed classes.
  • What is the club's cancellation policy?
    If you would like to cancel your child's classes at Cheltenham & Gloucester Gymnastics Club, we ask that you give us 1-month's notice so that we organise this on our system. Please send all cancellation requests via email to: admin@cggcgymnastics.com, remember to include your child's name and the class that they currently attend. We will then confirm your final payment and class date.
  • Do you run any competitions or showcases?
    Every July, the club hosts the annual CGGC Club Championship for recreational gymnasts. The highest scorers in our badge assessments will be invited to compete, with top performers earning medals and ribbons. Participation is optional but highly encouraged for those selected.
  • Are there any holiday camps/activities during the half-term/holiday breaks?
    Yes, most half-terms and holiday breaks we run activity camps and/or masterclasses. These are a great way have fun and keep active whilst classes are paused.
